WIRELESS, VOIP, AND NONTRADITIONAL PUBLIC SAFETY CHARGE
Effective, October 1, 2019, all communication service providers of wireless, VoIP, and nontraditional telephone services within the State of Arkansas must collect a monthly 9-1-1 fee of $1.30 per connection. These public safety charges are the result of A.C.A. § 12-10-318 passed during the 2019 legislative session.
All wireless, VoIP, and nontraditional telephone service 9-1-1 fees are to be remitted to the Arkansas Public Safety Trust Fund. If you have any questions, please contact us at 501-375-9911.
PREPAID WIRELESS PUBLIC SAFETY CHARGE
Effective, October 1, 2019, all sellers of prepaid wireless services in Arkansas shall collect from the consumer a public safety charge equal to ten percent (10%) of the value of the prepaid wireless service for each retail transaction. The prepaid wireless public safety charge is the result of A.C.A. § 12-10-326 passed during the 2019 legislative session.
